SITUATION OF THE PROJECT
The area from this project is totally inaccessible. In one hand it is limited by a gate and in the other hand there is a big level difference between thee two ends (“Verge de Montserrat” avenue and “Mig del Turó” passage.)
For these two reasons it is necessary to project access stairs. With the new stairs we create connectivity between “Puig y Alonso” square and the set of streets and passages that are 15 meters above.

MEMORY OF THE PROJECT
The proposal of new access stairs is based on the creation of sections of stairs separated by two landings, one more landing at the lower to adapt to “Verge de Montserrat” avenue and one more landing at the top, wider than the others because it is a rest area connected to the stairs and to the residential premises.
The idea of this project is clear and well defined, simple but covering all the needs and respecting the context of users.
This stairs have two utilities:
A section with a variable space of 1’65 meters to facilitate to be used by different people and children by installing one single handrail of two sizes (adult eight 100 inches and children size 70 inches.)
One down and climbing stairs individualized zone, of 80 inches wide with a lateral ramp at the end to facilitate climbing shopping carts, baby carriage, bikes, etc.
To resolve the lighting, we put two “Prim” columns to both sides of stairs that provide and homogeneous light, facilitating the social control, as it was required.
